International Flights from Nigeria Post Lockdown

• All travellers to Gambia must present a negative PCR COVID-19 test not older than 72 hours before arrival
• Travellers arriving in Gambia from red list countries will be subjected to a rapid diagnostic test for COVID-19 at the Banjul International Airport
• Travellers who test positive following the rapid diagnostic test at Banjul International Airport will be subjected to a PCR COVID-19 test to confirm their status
• Travellers who test negative are advised to observe a 14-day self-monitored quarantine at their residence and immediately report to the sample collection when experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
• Hotspot countries identified by the Ministry of Health are:

• To enter or transit through Germany, passengers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test not older than 48 hours before departure
• The negative COVID-19 PCR test must be from a Nigerian Government accredited laboratory
• B1/B2 tourist visa holders to USA cannot travel with Lufthansa due to US entry restrictions

• All passengers arriving in Ghana will undergo temperature screening.
• Passengers may not display any symptoms of COVID-19, including body temperatures exceeding 38°C.
• Passengers must present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to their scheduled departing flight to Accra.
• Payment can be made using cards and the cost is US$150 / GHS 900 / NGN57780,00. Ghanaians and Ecowas Citizens pay $50. Payment MUST be made online and proof of payment (receipt) shown before boarding.
• Children between the ages of 5-12 years are required to pay for testing.

• Passengers must present a negative PCR test taken within the 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the first flight.

Fully vaccinated passengers can now travel to the Netherlands without need for a PCR test or quarantine.

To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have had a full dose of an approved vaccine by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or from WHO Emergency 14 days before your arrival in the Netherlands or 28 if vaccinated with the Jonson and Johnson vaccine.

Passengers above the age of 13 must fill a health declaration form before departure and have a copy with them when they arrive in the Netherlands.

Only residents of the European Union who are not fully vaccinated or partially vaccinated are allowed entry into the Netherlands, however, exceptions are permitted.

All student passengers coming to Northern Cyprus, active students or registering for the first time, are not exempted from quarantine fees. All students must pay for their quarantine fees and show the receipt before departure.

Entry into Qatar is currently only allowed for:

• Qatari nationals
• The children and spouses of Qatari citizens
• Permanent resident permit holders
• Regular resident permit holders, subject to re-entry approval

Rwanda A negative COVID-19 test result is required for all passengers arriving, transiting or departing from Rwanda. The only accepted test is a SARS-CoV 2 Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) performed within 120 hours of departure time. Other tests, such as Rapid Diagnostics Test (RDTs), are not accepted.

• All travellers arriving in Senegal must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test not older than 72 hours, issued by an approved laboratory in the country of departure.
• When departing Senegal, testing will only be required for passengers travelling to countries that require it.
• Each passenger will have to fill in the tracking form and present it upon arrival.
• Passengers may be tested on arrival and, in the event of a positive result for COVID-19, they will be taken care of by the airport health services in accordance with the relevant protocols.

• Passengers aged 5 years and above are required to hold a Travellers Authorisation obtained online via the Sierra Leone travel portal. The Travellers Authorisation must consist of a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate issued within 72 hours before departure, a pre-departure Public Health Passenger Locator Form and proof of payment for a mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival.
• If your stay in Sierra Leone is longer than 5 days, passengers are subject to a COVID-19 RDT and PCR test on arrival. While waiting for the test results, passports will be retained by immigration services. Passengers whose RDT test result is positive will be quarantined at a hotel in Lungi at their own cost until they receive their PCR test result. Passengers with a positive PCR test result will be sent to the treatment centre. The test on arrival in Sierra Leone costs USD 80.
• Passengers who have travelled to Argentina, Brazil, India and Turkey in the past 14 days must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate tested not older than 72 hours before departure. The certificate must be in English and must specify:
  • the date of the test
  • the name of the certified laboratory at which the test was completed
  • a QR code to access the report
• Passengers must quarantine in a NaCOVERC approved quarantine hotel for 8 days at least upon arrival in Sierra Leone at their own cost. The passenger must undergo a COVID-19 PCR test on day 7 and if tested negative, the passenger may leave quarantine. Approved quarantine hotels include Hotel Mariam, Radisson Blu Hotel, Bintumani Hotel, Seaside Hotel, Kings Empire Hotel and Hill Valley Hotel.
• This does not apply to passengers who have been fully vaccinated and are arriving at least 14 days after the last dose of any COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccinated passengers must complete a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.

Passengers flying to South Africa should be aware of the following:

• Passengers, over the age of 5 years old, entering or transiting through South Africa must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test not more than 72 hours before departure.
• Passengers must complete a Traveller Health Questionnaire upon arrival
• Passengers are subject to a medical screening; in the event of the traveller’s failure to submit a certificate as proof of a negative COVID-19 test, the traveller will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own costs.
  • If the traveller tests positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost for a period of 10 days.

Effective 29 January 2022, inbound and transit passenger(s) operations from any of the following countries are now permitted to the airports in the Emirate of Dubai. These countries are Congo, Botswana, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Ghana, Guinea, Lesotho, Kenya, Liberia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

Passengers are required to comply with the following rules:

• Provide a negative COVID-19 test 48 hours before departure
• Undergo a PCR test upon arrival in Dubai and self-quarantine until a negative test result is released to the passenger
  • If the passenger tests positive, then such passengers will need to follow the guidelines issued by the relevant Health Authority of the Emirate of Dubai

For transit passengers, the rules/conditions governing entry of the final destination are applicable.

Direct flights on Emirates Airlines will resume to and from Nigeria on 5th February 2022. Air Peace is yet to announce the date of their flight resumption; it is slated to commence in February 2022 as well.

The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union has announced Civil Service industrial action that will impact Border Force operations.

Travellers who are planning to enter the UK on 1 February 2023 till 2 February(7am) may face longer wait times at border control.

Travelers should check the latest travel advice with operators before travelling.

Effective 6 December 2021, the following rules will apply to all passengers travelling to the United States regardless of nationality or vaccination status:

• All passengers aged two and older are required to show documentation of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 24 hours of the flight’s departure to the United States before boarding
  • All passengers must show a negative result to the airline before boarding the flight
• Disclosure and attestation form before departure and have a printed version with them
