Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS)

Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), also known as Denpasar International Airport, is Indonesia's third-busiest international airport. It is located 13 km from Denpasar. There's no public transport from the airport to any destination on the island.

There is an official taxi counter is located outside the arrival's hall with an attendant.  You prepay your fare in advance and take the receipt to the driver.  There are also auto rental booths in the airport.

Major Attractions

Since Bali is spread out, you must travel to visit all the photo op memory makers. Here are a few highlights of what there is to see and do in Bali.

Ubdu contains the world famous Monkey House, as well as some unique places of worship such as Goa Gajah.  There are also plenty of opportunities for bicyclists to take a trip down the rice paddies and see the heron flocks in the nearby village of Petulu.

Denpasar is a melting pot of different cultures from all over Indonesia and food varies from vegetarian, poultry or seafood, depending on what region the chef is from. Of course, all resorts contain eating facilities.


Bali is very rural and renting a small jeep or motorbike is a good option to get around.  Drivers must be in possession of an International Driving Permit (IDP) which can be applied for in Nigeria prior to departing.

Renting a bicycle is another option. Many areas on Bali are inaccessible by auto and can only be only reached on foot or bike.

Public transportation is limited. The ‘bemo’ is popular amongst the locals. They are a minibus or van with very cramped conditions. They can be time-consuming and inconvenient too get to where you wish. It’s not common to see visitors using the bemo to get around. Instead, use a taxi as they are very cheap.

Best Time to Visit

A tropical climate reigns in Bali, and that means rain, heat and humidity. This occurs during the months of October to March. The weather is nothing less than perfect and sunny with lower humidity, and the rain is confined to off-hours in the months from between April and October.
