Getting to know Jet Airways

Established in 1993, Jet Airways started out as a domestic Indian airline with a fleet of four Boeing 737-300s leased from Malaysia Airlines. A mere 11 years later the airline had gained so much ground that it launched its first international route between Chennai and Colombo.

Their network has expanded swiftly in the past few years, with flights currently being operated to 22 international destinations and 51 throughout India.

Their fleet has also grown from four ‘borrowed’ aircrafts to a full 115 of their own. Their average fleet age is 5.19 years, making it one of the youngest in the world.

Economy

Checked baggage of up to 30kg per passenger.

Premiere

Checked baggage of up to 40kg per passenger.

First

Checked baggage of up to 50kg per passenger.

Check in

There are a number of check in options for passengers, available from between 48 hours and 2 hours prior to the flight. If you’re not keen on any airport counter queues, you can check in on the web, your mobile or at a self-service electronic kiosk on arrival at the airport.

In the case of mobile and web check in, you will be issued with an e boarding pass. International travellers will have to exchange it for another boarding pass issued at the airport counter, so be sure to get there early.

All passengers, both adults and children, must be in possession of valid identification documents and also their passports as well as any visas required. If you are unable to produce identification and any other documents required, you will not be allowed to board the flight.
