The Royal Jordanian Airlines is Jordan official carrier, operating in more than four continents from its main hub at Queen Alia International Airport at Amman (AMM) Jordan. The airline is a member of Global airline alliance, Oneworld and Arab Air Carriers Organization.

It operates more than 500 flights weekly and 110 flight departures daily, voted by Air finance Journal in 2007 as the Airline of the Year, won the 2007 Airline Strategy Award by Airline Business magazine, Airline Turnaround of the Year 2006" for the Asian Pacific Aviation award, Punctuality Award 2009, Intercontinental category, by Schiphol Aviation Awards and many more.

Baggage allowance

Baggage should not exceed 32kg and additional baggage would require extra charges. Wheel chairs and other assistive devices are carried free of charges for customers who have reduced mobility. Special baggage and pets attracts charges and customers with such should make prior arrangement with the airport before departure time.

The free checked baggage allowance depends on the destination flown to/from as follows:

North America:

  • Crown: 2 x 32kg.
  • Economy: 2 x 23kg.
  • Infant: 1 x 23kg.

Europe:

  • Crown: 2 x 32kg.
  • Economy: 1 x 23kg.
  • Infant: 1 x 23kg.

Other:

  • Crown: 1 x 30kg.
  • Economy: 1 x 20kg.
  • Infant: 1 x 10 kg.

Carry-on baggage allowance is as follows:

  • Crown: 2 x 7kg.
  • Economy: 1 x 7kg.
  • Infant: 1 x 7kg, plus one fully collapsible stroller/push-chair or infant's carrying basket.

Note: The sum of all 3 dimensions of each piece of checked in baggage must not exceed 158 cm for adults, and 115 cm for infants while it must not exceed 115 cm for each piece of carry-on baggage. Otherwise a fee will be charged. Wheelchairs and Assistive Devices are carried for free for passengers with reduced mobility. Crown class passengers flying on Embraer aircraft are allowed only one piece of carry-on baggage. Baby strollers/push-chairs might need to be checked-in at the gate due to limited stowage in the aircraft cabin space.

Baggage Restriction

The Royal Jordanian Airlines have policy on the type of items that are carried on board, items like fireworks, explosives, radioactive materials, lighters, flammable liquids, ammunitions, flares, and corrosive materials are not allowed.

Check in

Passengers are recommended to check-in online up to 24 hours before their flight departure, arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before flight departure. People with special needs are also required come one hour before departure for logistics. For USA and Canada flights, check-in desks open one hour and close 45 minutes prior to departure.
