Before now, Qantas Airline had Perth to London, Qatar Airways had Doha to Auckland as the longest flight. However, Singapore Airways Ltd has launched what is now the longest flight from Singapore to New York with flight time sitting at almost 18 hours.<\/p>\n
Singapore Airlines relaunched this service 5years after it was cut off because it was too expensive to manage.<\/p>\n
The Airbus\u00a0is said to carry up to 161 passengers with cabins like Business class and Premium Economy available without economy seats.<\/p>\n
The aircraft will have two pilots, who must have not flown an aircraft in 48 hours and in addition, they get a minimum of\u00a08 hours rest while onboard.<\/p>\n
For food, a special “wellness” menu that offers prawn ceviche, organic chicken and zucchini pappardelle and more balanced meal choices that facilitates circulation will be provided.<\/p>\n
For entertainment, the aircraft has more than seven weeks’ worth of film and television entertainment to keep the travelers occupied.<\/p>\n
For internet users worried about being incommunicado for almost a whole day, the flight offers Wi-Fi, for a price. A business-class ticket gets 30MB of data for free. An additional 20MB, which covers just about an hour of Facebook or Instagram, costs $6, with bigger packages offering up to 200MB for $28. Singapore Air says data speed could be 4-8 Mbps, depending on active users, satellite coverage and weather conditions.<\/p>\n
