  7. What about Maiduguri? Very safe!

  8. Enugu (042) is one of the top 3 best City in Nigeria

  9. How can u justify ur top 3 best cities in nigeria?

    • Hi Akin, The list above is for the safest cities in Nigeria and it’s in no particular order.

  10. it seems to be proven wrong…. what about the historical city of Kano

  11. This list brings a nostalgic feeling to me. I grew up and schooled in Enugu and spent my youthful days in Owerri my home town and i am now living the active cum productive days of my life in Lagos. I visited Calabar and Uyo on a few occasions and i was at a time visiting Ibadan on official assignments on weekly basis. Nigeria is a beautiful place to be. I feel sad Jos, Plateau is not here because of some evil people. I served in Bauchi and spent almost all my weekends then either in Bauchi town or Jos. Those days can never be forgotten. Is Ilorin not qualified to be on this list may be by extending the list to 12.

  13. this is biased and untrue forget book haram how can no northern city be present and each city you posted has a deformity. We better stop doing things based on sentiments.

  14. All those people wey dey complain say dem no put any northern states, if say dem put anyone, u no go take ur hand delete am comot? Now tell me which d northern state dey safe? Me self na north I dey’ kaduna precisely… Born n raised. E no safe o ma guy!

  15. Nice selection…great for Ibadan and Oshogbo

  16. OK so we have a list but what’s missing is what to do when you get there.

  17. Is abuja nt a northern state?

  18. Enugu is among the best, people that ask questions why their cities are not include, we know the best and safest cities in Nigeria, imagine someone asking what of Maiduguri, how can any northern cities be include after all this killing and harsh things happening there.
Or you wish to include Aba, Onitsha or Port-hacourt not possible, a place where people cannot sleep and wake up safely, where you cannot drive freely because of those who are watching to kidnap you.
God save us and upgrade our nation, am not from one of the mentioned cities either, but we must say the fact.
    Up Emugu and Calabar

  19. Akure top the list ten safest city in Nigeria ,and i think it is true assesement because the people are very warmly and deal squely with any criminal activity head on without waisting time, and its becoming no going area for robbers and other criminal apparatus. kudos to the people of the state and the state governor Mimiko for keeping the safe. It is state where tourist and industry investment can strive .

  20. So happy dat ma home town is here # calabar is always safe. Tho am in lagos precisely.

  21. All man dey catch feelings! Any of the above mentioned states dey pay alawi tothe poor?

  22. Absence of things that cause emotional disturbances can also stop tourists from visiting a particular area. Just imagine the schizophrenic conditions of our electricity, the irregular supply of pipe-borne water and the pot-holes on some of our roads.

  23. i dont really agree with this list. personnaly i think calabar, uyo, enugu
    should come first,

  24. Port Harcourt and Onitsha not safe? Why? Planning to travel for holiday. Proudly Ugandan.

    • You wan catch HIV?

  25. Though im frm ibadan,i leave and work in ilorin. ibadan is large and calm. good to leave and work in. beautiful city.

    • What’s beautiful about Ibadan?????

  26. Benin city??? Safe!!!! Really…what are these results based on?

  27. My guy una tamper with dis list oo. Top 10 most dangerous cities in the whole world, Lagos is number 6, so how come e appear 4 safest 4nigeria, na so naija corrupt reach?? Any crime wen no happen 4lagos, e no dey happen 4 any other part of nigeria. #fact. Except 4bokoharam. So maybe dis list is d reverse. And mind U, if U want 2use how much a city has spent on security 2do dis ranking, den Bayelsa should come number 1, mind U I’m nt from bayelsa. But d security buildings that were built in bayelsa, its found only in London, New-york and Bayelsa, find out.

  28. Please leave your comment…y….is DELTA STATE NOT AMONG THE TEN PEACEFUL CITE TO VISIT IN NIGER…..D REASON Y AM SAYING DIS I BCUS A LOT OF PEOPLE FIND PEACE HERE IN DELTA……BUT IS NOT AMONG…..IS NOT GOOD HOOOO…….

    • Dude my list will go like this ,since we are talking about safe and visit,my number one on the list will be calabar ,2 uyo ,3 lagos ,4 abuja ,5 Enugu ,6 benin city ,7owerri 8 ibadan, 9akure,10 osogbo.cities with the infrastructure and tourist attraction to visit and see should come first .

  29. I agree with uyo being on the list. I currently live in uyo.
I just wish port harcourt would some day make it to the list.there’s no place like home I love Ph city.

    • I am a doctor, got job in ibom hospital in akwa, uyo. Coming with my family.
dear friends kindly give me the practical life both good and bad in uyo. Thank you.

    • Hi Risha, Uyo is a beautiful place to live. More peaceful and affordable too. You will definitely enjoy your stay.

  30. the is complete biase bullshit, that said.katsina state is the most peacefull place in nigeria and possibly in the world.

  31. There’s no doubt on that list cos it was attested, I #rep Enugu.

  32. Well I wish it is so, but I don’t believe it. It’s been years of turmoil for me when my best friend went to work there and was kidnap, extorted , tortured, stab, he escaped once and captured, family been scam, he was released to come home, he has been missing for the past year with no demands… We don’t know if he is alive or not and in what state! So much the hospitality! His daughter grew up with out knowing what happen to him! Some how this country of yours lure people in with empty promises. I just got news another friend of mine only a month ago I had café with him is now in Nigeria for work. Why did hew go I will never understand. Will he manage to find our mutual friend or will he end up missing too? How safe is it there now? What happen to those that got killed, robed, etc… and those missing, kidnap, tortured…. When will they be free? Where is James? What will happen to Fred now that he is there? I have great Nigerian friends but they are so few. When will Nigeria bit corruption? Beat scam? I’m not convince Nigeria changed until I see my friends back home safely!

  33. I have to say that this is a fairly dependable list though I totally disagree on Lagos coming #1. I would rank them: 1.Calabar 2.Uyo 2.Enugu 3.Abuja 3.katsina 4.Ibadan 5.Lagos 6.Akure; 7.Benin 7.owerri
Though there are no empirical statistics to do a scientifically accurate ranking.

  34. Lagos number 1 – no !
Tho there isn’t scientific data to an empirical ranking but mine would go :
    1. calabar
    2. Enugu
    2. Uyo
    3. Abuja
    4. Akure
    4 Katsina
    5. Ibadan
    6. Lagos
    7. Benin
    7. Owerri
    Lol!

    • The list is accurate by involving Akure but without being bias Idanre should ve been number one on the list;due to the natural beauty God has Personally bestowed on the town which yearly attracts thousands of foreign tourist from all over the world. The people are friendly and security wise, the town is supab.Visit Idanre Hill and gives cudos to Almighty God for the wonderful work of His hand on earth.Pls try and know that God is great.

  35. U wanna get HIV?

  36. There is no safe place in Nigeria ,the truth is you have to be prayerful any time you are in Nigeria ask God direct you.

  37. Where is Katsina? so no place for nothern states? this list is a lie.

  38. why is ogun state nt inclusive?

  39. ILORIN is the safest of all.
so why ddon’t you include it?

  40. Calabar should come first, then follow by uyo and asaba then warri, maiduguri, yobe, yola etc

  41. I am Joe Mike, can someone let me know the best and the safest African country to live.

  42. I don’t agree with Abuja on that list

  43. I was wanting to come an visit Niagara, but I don’t know what part to visit that’s not to expensive. But if some one could help me out. Thankz. 🙂

  44. not even one northern state? then u av written some pieces of trash, kogi state alone is safer than all these location u mentioned

  45. u dnt need Distinguish out some cities u hav not once been, because u hav not experience there system of living.i rank my own dis way,1 enugu,2calabar,3 uyo,4 owerri,5 Abuja, etn.NOTE lagos nd benin shouldnt hav been listed B/cos if so u will also include onitsha

  46. Asaba is the safest, and the most peaceful city in Nigeria.
